Love Volunteers offers placements for much-needed volunteers in Oaxaca, Mexico. Volunteers will be given the chance to work with children, assist with teach, and support medical personnel in clinics and hospitals in this fascinating Central American country.

Often, a stint spent volunteering provides the perfect gap year transition before launching on a university degree. Equally, volunteering can fill a break between jobs or career, as it can be the ideal way to gain a new perspective on life or to re-examine one’s value. There is no doubt that volunteering offers the chance to savour a different culture and to engage with people who genuinely need the support volunteers’ can provide.

Volunteering in Mexico is both challenging and rewarding. Its many different indigenous groups, unsettled economy and lack of state-provided facilities have meant that the more marginalized inhabitants of the country suffer various forms of deprivation. Enriching the lives of such people is what volunteering in Mexico is about. Being in Mexico also provides an excellent opportunity to learn Spanish.

Mexico is a country known for its colour, crowds, festivities and noise. The volunteer projects are located in and around Cuernavaca, capital of the state of Morelos, lying 53 miles south of Mexico City; and the city of Oaxaca which is a further 250 miles south of Cuernavaca.

In close partnership with an incredible local team Love Volunteers are proud to offer programs across the United States. Strategically located in well-known US cities volunteers can participate on programs in 5 fantastic locations: Chicago, Philadelphia, San Diego, New Orleans and the island state of Puerto Rico.

Being immersed in a fascinating new city and contributing to worthwhile projects alongside like-minded individuals is a panacea for the soul. Whether as a holiday alternative, filling a study or career gap with a worthwhile endeavour, building career experience or pursuing a passion for service, there's no doubt that volunteering in the US is as rewarding as it gets!  On-site training is provided so our volunteers need only bring a genuine willingness to help.  Our local team match volunteer skills with a suitable project for the ideal outcome.

The United States is an immense nation of vast natural beauty, rich history and diverse culture and customs. No two cities are the same and international and domestic volunteers alike will find much to explore within its borders. Regarded as a world super power and undoubtably a behemoth on the international stage the US is not immune to the issues faced by other nations: of income and resource inequality, environmental sustainability, affordable housing and access to education. Our programs focus on the key areas of Youth Support, Community Development and Environmental Conservation.
