/ 10My time volunteering at the monastery in Nepal was the most life changing experience I have ever had. I learned so much from the monks and I feel like I was able to actually affect a positive change in their lives as well. The monks are a group of lively boys who really teach you what love and appreciating life is all about. I also learned a lot about Tibet and all of the struggles that these people have gone through. It amazes me how life affirming they remain despite their struggles. While living in the monastery I was fully immersed in the daily life of the monks and it's incredible how strong of a bond I was able to form with so many of them in only a month.I am already planning on going back to the monastery I volunteered at in Nepal this October and staying for 8 months next time. It made such an incredible impact on my life that I knew one month wasn't going to be enough, I needed to go back. I expect to maintain the friendships I made with the monks there for a lifetime.
